I'm Shannon Hennig, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and ISSA Certified Exercise Recovery Specialist. As a self-described fat fitness coach, I specialize in working with plus-sized women who have a broken relationship with exercise and movement. Without any talk of diets or pressure to lose weight, I'm a different kind of personal trainer who gets it.
I know what it's like to be a woman with a fat body when it comes to health and fitness. The constant pressure to lose weight and change your body is a nightmare. Your body is not the problem - it's society's, and I'm here to help you heal your relationship with exercise and surpass your own expectations of what your body can do when shown love and respect.
For many women, exercise has been used as a punishment or tool to lose weight, leaving you with negative feelings about it. I address the underlying things that keep you stuck. Things like shame, body image, stress, fear of injury, and mindset. We work together you to keep you on track and motivated to reach your goals.
Fitness habits can be difficult to start and oftentimes fail. My goal is to change your view on fitness so that it becomes a part of who you are and your lifestyle.
From my own experience, I know that with healthy, sustainable habits, you move better, build confidence and learn to appreciate your body.
